Mudgee NSW Wines

Mudgee is home to some of Australia’s oldest and highest vineyards. Growing grapes since 1858, Mudgee’s viticulture grew via a robust Shiraz, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, and a rich, buttery Chardonnay. The combination of fertile soil, consisting of volcanic earth and sandy loam laid over clay, allows for superb nutrient retention and good drainage which are important in grape production. As wine palates expanded, so did Mudgee’s diverse range of grapes, now producing Riesling, Barbera, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Vermentino and Pinot Grigio, to name a few.
